This week, new updates are arriving on the Documentation Hub to improve reader experience, provide greater search functionality, and encourage faster access to documentation. This release is the first phase in modernizing the Unqork documentation, making it easier to search, navigate, and locate the relevant information you need to help you build at Unqork.Documentation Hub updates include:New Homepage Layout: No more button navigation on the homepage that requires you to choose a destination to enter the Documentation Hub. Now you can access the navigation menu directly from the homepage. Dynamic Search: See immediate search results as you enter your query into the search field. Side-Navigation Reduction: When exploring the Documentation Hub’s side navigation, you can view twice the number of articles in three-fourths of the space. This enhancement makes it easier to navigate the Documentation Hub on smaller screens. High-Vis: Callouts like TIPs and NOTEs have been redesigned to draw them to your attention even more. Condensed View: Spend less time scrolling through articles because the condensed spacing between headers, images, and callouts takes up less vertical space. Tab Implementation: Navigate to relevant sections of an article quickly using the new tabbing features of articles—for example, quickly navigating to specific settings for a documented feature.You can expect to see the same implementation on the Platform Release Notes site in the coming weeks. Its organization and easy accessibility of release notes will remain the same experience.What about the Unqork Academy? UDesigner is Unqork’s new core Integrated Development Environment (IDE) that supports all existing and new Unqork functionalities. Introducing VegaCreators can now also start building next-generation applications with UDesigner on the new Vega runtime. Rest assured, your existing applications will continue to function seamlessly, ensuring continuity while you explore the advanced features and benefits of Vega. Learn about UDesigner & Vega in live training from Unqork Academy. We also have weekly Office Hours throughout August and a Resource Page. UDesigner & Vega Documentation Due to the large amount of Unqork documentation on the Documentation Hub, article updates are ongoing, and will be available as features are released. To support Unqork’s Classic Designer and our new UDesigner IDE, updated documentation will include both versions of the IDE. Supported documentation includes new Classic Designer and UDesigner tabs that allow you to view the appropriate documentation without having to navigate to a new page. Introducing Application VersioningApplication Versioning also lets you easily add enhancements, test functionality, troubleshoot issues, and roll back an application to a working version. We are excited to share the details of our latest Unqork Community Hackathon. In this asynchronous competition, Creators are asked to build a working application that showcases the power of the next generation of the Unqork platform: UDesigner & Vega. Earn bragging rights, points, badges, gift cards, and other recognition as you showcase your expertise and sharpen your configuration skills. In this postHow it works Timeline* F.A.Q. You can still earn 200 points for participating and showcase your expertise and creativity if you approve us to share your app with the community.  What’s different from previous Unqork Hackathons?This time, there is no individual category. You are required to work in teams of three. Additionally, you will build in a specific hackathon environment (see next question) Where do I build?You will have two options:Build in your company’s staging environment (if it’s on the 7.10 release).  Or we can provide access to a dedicated hackathon environment. Your team will have one dedicated workspace for building your application. More details will be sent once you register. How can I learn more about UDesigner & VegaCheck out our resource page with a F.A.Q. and overview, documentation links, live training, office hours, and more.  Does Unqork offer dedicated support for Hackathon participants?In addition to the resources above and our always-on Community Hub, questions tagged with UDesigner or Vega are routed to the Unqork Product and Engineering teams for UDesigner and Vega. This way, they have real time visibility into questions and can help answer them on the community. If you’re in need of additional support, work with your primary Unqork contact to request options.  Is there a time limit? How much time will it take to participate?We believe you can and should participate in this Hackathon even if you only spend a few hours on your app. While there is no time limit, there’s also no time minimum. If you only have an hour or two to spare, we recommend the steps in the next question. So then, why the long timeline? As an asynchronous competition, we’re allowing plenty of time for you to build your application whenever you have some free time to explore. Whether that means working for a few hours in one sitting or for a few minutes here and there across a few weeks.  How do I get started?The primary focus of these Hackathons is to give you a fun reason to explore new functionality and fine tune your skills as a Creator. Getting started means first familiarizing yourself with these new grid components. Put together a team of 3 Creators. Sign up via the event page. Review the documentation and other learning resources.  Come up with your application use case. It can be simple; it cam be complex. It can be fun, it can solve a business problem. Whatever use case you can think of to meet the criteria outlined on the event page. Outline your general config. Develop a plan; map out how you might build this application. This will save you time and help you manage the time you spend building.  Start building! Who will see my application?While our dedicated hackathon environment with host all the applications, each team will be given access to one dedicated workspace. Due to Unqork’s Workspaces Role-Based Access Control (WSRBAC), only your teammates will be able your application. Additionally, Unqork staff (judges and those coordinating the hackathon) will have access to your workspace and application. However, we will not modify any configuration. If you’re chosen as a finalist, you will be asked to demo your application on a live showcase event. In that case, many more will see your application demo on the live event, post-event recording, and post-event marketing materials (if you approve).  Additionally, we hope that not finalist participants will opt-in to sharing your application in posts like this on the Community Hub. This will help other Creators learn from your work by watching the video, asking questions, or maybe even sharing advice.  Can I submit more than one application?Absolutely! Any submissions received by the deadline will be considered. In fact, I’ll give you 200 points for each application you submit. I don’t think I’ll win, why should I participate?Hands-on experience with the next generation of the Unqork Platform!This is a fun way to explore functionality you might not yet have a use case for in your day job. Maybe you’re early on in the build of your application, maybe you specialize with data workflow, but don’t get to configure the UI, maybe you’re part of a large team and don’t get to design or make the big decisions on your apps.With this Hackathon, you get to own every part of building a (small) application, as well as having the freedom to get creative or have fun with your use case!  Okay, but what are the prizes?Each participant will receive 200 points, as well as the Hackathon Participant badge on their Community profile. For example, let’s say you have a Button component configured with an On Click event that executes the Add a Row operation in a Vega Table component. We are working with our testing vendor, Prometric, to get the new exam live in mid-July. We highly recommend current Associate and Professional certified Creators continue their learning journey and earn their Developer certification, showcasing the complete set of skills needed to build on the Unqork platform. We have put together a guide to help you understand what content in the Developer learning path is new based on your current certification level. The results are in from our recent Unqork Community Hackathon for Integration Gateway: My colleague @Haley Turner, Sr. Product Manager for Integration Gateway, reviewed the hackathon entries and selected two entries from Unqork Partner EY as the top submissions.Stay tuned for updates as we look to schedule a showcase webinar with these two teams. Winning Application: Claims Portal Runner up: E-Commerce PortalWinning Application: Claims PortalA claims portal application, built by Sylvia Mary Immanuel Sundar (@Sylvia Mary I S) , Sujitha C S (@Su_jitha), and Viviliya Jenifer Mary Jesudoss (@Vivil).Application OverviewEY-FNOL is an end-to-end claim portal application where users can report a loss for the insured Personal Auto policy and is the first step of claims processing.The portal can be accessed by the reporters or claimants to enter the loss details. We pre-populate the data across screen based on the policy details from the database management. The application records the selected vehicle details, new reporter (it could be an agent, broker etc), and enables to add third party vehicles and covers the liabilities.To complete the FNOL, policyholders or third-party claimants provide the insurance company with the following information:Policy number Incident details as date, time and location Incident description and type of the loss Claim supported exposures If it is a collision, the policyholder could also provide information about the other party’s insurance information and driver’s license.Once the claim is submitted the generated report will be sent for approval to adjuster and he would be providing decision via dashboard. Use of Integration GatewayMySQL DB to insert- (POST), update (PUT), select (GET) policy and claims details HTTP request to search (GET) VIN details Slack to notify (POST) the claim community about claim initiation and claim submission PDFMonkey to generate pdf (POST) with claim details reported as per the provided template. DocuSign to get (GET) the list of documents, send documents (POST) from Dropbox for eSignature and watch the event after signing the document to update the claim status. Outlook (POST) triggers mail with pdf report and Unqork dashboard link for adjuster to make decision to the respective claim Runner up: E-Commerce Portal@Ashlin felix.R, @Mangaiyarkarasi Thangavel, and @Saranya Radhakrishnan built an “e-commerce portal for Shopify which we engage with customers to customize their products.”Use of Integration GatewayWe have used Shopify to add customer details and Product details. Also used MY SQL to store Shopify details, Virtual assistance for page navigation usage based on customer language, notification through Twilio, SMS by Workato, and. Outlook. Along with these descriptions, participants shared detailed demos of their application and discussed their configuration. With the launch of our Developer Learning Path, we're introducing a brand-new Bootcamp. Unqork will also host office hours throughout the week, offering configuration and troubleshooting support. Earlier this month, we began rolling out a small user experience improvement on the Unqork Community Hub. Now, questions with a marked answer become closed for commenting one week after the answer is marked. You will still be able to like replies, but you will not be able to reply on the thread. More details below.  FAQWhy close comments? We noticed a trend of follow-up questions on many of our thousands previously answered questions. Often times these follow-up comments and related questions go unaddressed; this is likely due to: Question displays as answered in activity feeds, thus Creators are less likely to click into the thread to see the response (and thus, help respond). Creators who participated in the original thread may no longer be active. Following a new conversation on a previously answered thread can be confusing; others may not know whether the follow-up has been answered. That’s not the experience we want you to have when you’re looking for answers in the Unqork Community. Now, when you view a previously answered question, a message will show letting you know if commenting has been closed.  What if I have a related question? We recommend you create a new question, referencing the previous question. If the question is recent, it might be helpful to @ mention the Creator who provided the accepted answer. New questions have a 99% probability of receiving at least one helpful reply, and we typically see monthly averages of 75-80% of questions solved.  New questions benefit from incentives like Featured Questions, Answer Hero, and Problem Solver badges.  We want to recognize and reward the Creators who help answer your questions, especially if they are pursuing SME status. Answering your question earns them at least 20 points.   What if I need the thread re-opened?If the question was incorrectly marked as solved or if there’s a new insight to share, you can use the flagging feature (the *** menu in the bottom right) to flag the post and request it re-open.  Why one week? This allows time for follow-up questions and comments, whether it be a “thank you!” reply, a clarifying question, or an additional insight to share.  Related

This way, they have real time visibility into questions and can help answer them on the community. If you’re in need of additional support, work with your primary Unqork contact to request options.  How do I sign up?We’re asking you to sign up via the event page. When you sign up, you’ll receive the link for submitting your application. This helps us know who is planning to submit an application for the Hackathon. It’s helpful in case we need to send you any updates, like if we decide to extend the deadline or if there’s any other guidance we have to give.  Is there a time limit? How much time will it take to participate?We believe you can and should participate in this Hackathon even if you only spend a few hours on your app. While there is no time limit, there’s also no time minimum. If you only have an hour or two to spare, we recommend the steps in the next question. So then, why the long timeline? As an asynchronous competition, we’re allowing plenty of time for you to build your application whenever you have some free time to explore. Whether that means working for a few hours in one sitting or for a few minutes here and there across a few weeks.  How do I get started?The primary focus of these Hackathons is to give you a fun reason to explore new functionality and fine tune your skills as a Creator. Getting started means first familiarizing yourself with these new grid components. Sign up via the event page. Ensure Integration Gateway is enabled for your staging environment (see above) Review the documentation and other learning resources.  Come up with your application use case. It can be simple; it cam be complex. It can be fun, it can solve a business problem. Whatever use case you can think of to meet the criteria outlined on the event page. Outline your general config. Develop a plan; map out how you might build this application. This will save you time and help you manage the time you spend building.  Start building! Who will see my application?Due to the change of building within your company’s staging environment, no one will have direct access to your application. Instead, you will be asked to submit a video demo and overview of your configuration. Initially, just our judges our judges will review these videos. If you’re chosen as a finalist, you will be asked to demo your application on a live showcase event. In that case, many more will see your application demo on the live event, post-event recording, and post-event marketing materials (if you approve).  Additionally, we hope that not finalist participants will opt-in to sharing your application in posts like this on the Community Hub. This will help other Creators learn from your work by watching the video, asking questions, or maybe even sharing advice.  Can I submit more than one application?Absolutely! Any submissions received by the deadline will be considered. In fact, I’ll give you 100 points for each application you submit. I don’t think I’ll win, why should I participate?This is a fun way to explore functionality you might not yet have a use case for in your day job. Maybe you’re early on in the build of your application, maybe you specialize with data workflow, but don’t get to configure the UI, maybe you’re part of a large team and don’t get to design or make the big decisions on your apps.With this Hackathon, you get to own every part of building a (small) application, as well as having the freedom to get creative or have fun with your use case!  Okay, but what are the prizes?Each participant will receive 100 points, as well as the Hackathon Participant badge on their Community profile.
