Celebrating Two Years with Unqork's Community Hub!

Today completes two full years live with our Unqork Community Hub! As we did last year, let’s celebrate with a review of how far we’ve come in the past twelve months. Community happens in collaboration with each of you contributing to our success. Thank you for another great year! Award Winning Community Year 2 Highlight: Class-Leading Reply and Answer Rates Year 2 in Review What’s Next?Award Winning CommunityIn May, we were recognized as a leader in the customer communities with a Gainsight GameChanger Award! Year 2 Highlight: Class-Leading Reply and Answer RatesOne year ago, we had a “good problem” to solve: as engagement increased on the Community Hub, it became harder to keep up with the increased rate of questions. So we made it our goal to improve your experience. How did we do? Over the past year, we have improved our answer rate by 30% and ensured that almost every question received a helpful reply. These are class-leading results, as community industry benchmark reports (like this), indicate SaaS communities average only about a 50% answer rate.  Year 2 in ReviewAugust: We added recognition for top contributors (more to come on this at the end!).   September: The engine behind our drastically improved reply and answer rates launched:   October: We wrapped up our second hackathon.   November: Two UX improvements.    December: New and expanded features.   January: More flexibility and more benefits for SMEs.     February: We kicked off a new, annual points competition.    March: The first in a revamp of resource links on the home page.     April: Home page revamp part two!   May: Our biggest month of the year!We launched a new community feature to help you track enhancements, bug fixes, and documentation updates for specific features.  We won our award: We hosted an Ask the Expert series on our spring release:   And our Technical Writing team put together a great new resource featured on the Community home page:    June: One of the most significant UX improvements since we launched.   July: New opportunities, new functionality, and 4 great Dynamic Refresh demos.   August: And circling back to where we began with updated rewards for top contributors.   What’s Next?Earlier today we announced changes coming soon: And we’re always looking for ways to improve your experience. Send me a message or an email at community@unqork.com with your feedback and ideas.

Now Live: Changes to Your Training Environment and Community Experiences

Update: September 11, 2023These changes have now been implemented. Read more in the original post below, these FAQs on the WSRBAC for the Training environment, and in this recommended best practices article for the community:  If a POC link is broken on Community Hub: Please flag the post and let us know. We are still working to preserve past POCs in the new Community Answers workspace. We will do our best to expedite any reported links.  If you are having issues the Training Environment: Create a support ticket so the team can help resolve it. We're excited to announce that we will be turning on workspace role-based access control (WSRBAC) in the Unqork Training environment in the coming weeks. This will bring about a number of changes to the Training environment and the Unqork Community Hub that will improve the user experience and enhance performance. Why we’re making this changeBetter performance in the Training environment. WSRBAC will allow us to better manage empty workspaces, unused applications, and inactive users leading to a cleaner, more performant environment. It will also allow you to load personal applications with ease and build with confidence.   Better UX in the Training environment. Your view will be simpler and more personalized. Your personal workspace should be one of the first workspaces you see, rather than having to locate it using the search function or adding it to your bookmarks. You’ll also be able to easily navigate to shared resources on Academy and Community.  Improve preservation of POCs on Community. Part of this change will be to preserve helpful POCs built to answer questions on Community in a view-only workspace. This will allow us to grow our library of examples and ensure broken links in Community are a thing of the past. What this means for youUsers will be limited to a single personal workspace. You will not be able to access workspaces of other creators unless participating in a training program that requires cross workspace collaboration. This will keep your workspace clear and enhance the training experience for all. Your personal workspace was created for you when you first accessed the training environment.    Users will also have access to two Community workspaces. For Community Q&A, you’ll need to build (or copy/paste) a POC in the Community Collaboration workspace. When a POC is included in a marked answer on Community Hub, it will be moved to the Community Answers workspace. Everyone will be able to read those POCs, but won’t be able to modify it. Thus, preserving the integrity of the answer / avoiding breaking the POC.   Some of your Community built POCs may move. If a POC was selected as the top answer to a community question, it will be moved to the Community Answers workspace. The URL will remain the same, but it will no longer be in your personal workspace. (You will be able to copy/paste the definition if you want a copy in your personal workspace.)This will be a seamless transition that should not affect any training programs you are participating in or disrupt any open* questions you have on the Community Hub. As always, please let us know if you run into any issues or have any questions.*However, open questions older than 1 year may be archived.Unqork Community & Enablement Teams

How to Delete Posts and Unmark Answers on the Community Hub?

A small, but impactful improvement to your Unqork Community Hub experience is now live; requests to delete a post or unmark an answer from your question are automated! Previously, these requests were sent to the community team for review, delaying resolution until working hours of the next business day. Note: the automated improvements only work for posts for which you are the author or answers on questions you asked. If you flag a post authored by someone else, the request will be flagged to the community team for review. How it worksThe overall process is mostly the same. You have the option to select ‘Flag/Delete’ from the *** menu on the bottom right corner of any post (including replies). Find Flag/Delete in the *** menuThe small adjustment comes in stating the reason for your request. The reasons DELETE and UNMARK will trigger the appropriate resolution. Help text guides you through the automated actionsOnce you submit, the delete or unmark request should process immediately. Refresh the page to see your request fulfilled.  Best practiceThere is one use case for auto-deleting a post we want to avoid; when you solve the question you asked on your own. While your instinct may be to delete the post, we prefer that you reply to your own question with the solution and mark the answer. Not only will you earn points for both providing and marking the answer, but you strengthen our community knowledge base with an answer others can leverage in the future.

Unqork Community Hackathon: Dynamic Refresh - Overview and F.A.Q.

We are excited to share the details of our latest Unqork Community Hackathon. In this asynchronous competition, Creators are asked to build a working application that leverages Dynamic Refresh and other new features.Earn bragging rights, points, badges, Unqork swag, and other recognition as you showcase your expertise and sharpen your configuration skills. In this postHow it works Timeline Announcing New Team Category F.A.Q. Who can participate?  What’s different from the previous Hackathons?  Why build in the training environment and Community Hackathon workspace?  What if I don’t have access to the training environment? How do I sign up?  Is there a time limit? How much time will it take to participate?  How do I get started?  What are some use cases I could build?  Some real-world use cases to consider:  Fun use cases to consider:  Who will see my application? Can I submit more than one application?  I don’t think I’ll win, why should I participate?  Okay, but what are the prizes? Do you have any examples I can review?  What if I have other questions?   How it worksSign-up on the event page: This is how you receive the submission form and also let us know you plan to participate.  Begins May 2 Deadline May 25 Build on your own or with your team: Just be sure to submit by the deadline.  This is an asynchronous hackathon for our Creators all around the world! No time minimum or maximum. Submit your app: Use the submission form (emailed to you in step 1) to submit the following: Short video explanation of the application (~5 minutes) Short description of the application  Screenshot of their application Link to application  TimelineMay 2: Hackathon Launch May 25: Deadline to sign up June 8: Entries dueJudges will select finalists for each category by late June and we’ll schedule a live showcase for the audience to determine the winners.  Announcing New Team CategoryWe heard your feedback. This time, hackathon entries may be submitted to one of two categories: individual or team. You may compete individually or partner with others in a teams of 2 or 3. Each Creator should sign up individually to ensure you receive the necessary details and communications. F.A.Q.In addition to the details on the event page, below are some anticipated questions you might have. We’ll update this blog with other frequently asked questions as they occur.  Who can participate? Any Creator in our community: customer, partner, Unqork staff, and even those still considering and exploring Unqork. The only requirement is that you have Creator access to an environment. (If you’re able to log in to the Community Hub, you have the right access.)Note: While Unqork staff are welcome to participate, we’ll be limiting the competition to non-staff Creators. You can still earn 100 points for participating and showcase your expertise and creativity if you approve us to share your app with the community.  What’s different from the previous Hackathons? We have added the new team category (details above). You can compete in the individual category or the team category (teams of 2 or 3 Creators).Additionally, we’re asking all participants to build within the same Community Hackathon workspace within the Training environment.  Why build in the training environment and Community Hackathon workspace? We need to be able to access your application. Applications in other environments are not accessible by our judges and other Creators. Building in the same workspace makes finding and reviewing the applications easier for everyone. What if I don’t have access to the training environment?Unqork customers and partners are able to request access here.   How do I sign up? We’re asking you to sign up via the event page. When you sign up, you’ll receive the link for submitting your application. This helps us know who is planning to submit an application for the Hackathon. It’s helpful in case we need to send you any updates, like if we decide to extend the deadline or if there’s any other guidance we have to give.  Is there a time limit? How much time will it take to participate? We believe you can and should participate in this Hackathon even if you only spend a few hours on your app. While there is no time limit, there’s also no time minimum. If you only have an hour or two to spare, we recommend the steps in the next question. So then, why the long timeline? As an asynchronous competition, we’re allowing plenty of time for you to build your application whenever you have some free time to explore. Whether that means working for a few hours in one sitting or for a few minutes here and there across a few weeks.  How do I get started? The primary focus of these Hackathons is to give you a fun reason to explore new functionality and fine tune your skills as a Creator. Getting started means first familiarizing yourself with these new grid components. Sign up via the event page. Review the documentation and other learning resources.  Come up with your application use case. It can be simple; it cam be complex. It can be fun, it can solve a business problem. Whatever use case you can think of to meet the criteria outlined on the event page. Outline your general config. Develop a plan; map out how you might build this application. This will save you time and help you manage the time you spend building. It also might help you earn bonus points, by considering what Marketplace accelerators you can leverage to enhance your application with pre-built functionality.  Start building! Log-in to the training environment and build your application within the Community Hackathon workspace. What are some use cases I could build? From the documentation: Dynamic Refresh offers increased flexibility for various projects. The use cases below demonstrate how to integrate this feature into your application. Render a Contexual and Immersive UI: Delight end-users with rich & relevant content specific to their selections (for example, “See details”)—all while leveraging the power & diversity of Unqork’s component suite. Path Dependent Questionnaires: Fine grain, modular control over fetching and rendering. Dynamic Refresh unlocks form-centric applications whose paths are driven by the end-users' inputs to determine the next questions to prompt. Acts as a powerful pattern for lower-complexity Workflow-like navigation and replaces sprawling Navigation components. Progressively Load Complex Modules: Trigger multiple Dynamic Refresh operations to render content in sequence, creating a responsive load experience. Customize the loading experience for your brand and use case. Some real-world use cases to consider: Insurance Agent/Broker submission forms Multi-channel P&C commercial lines intake Wealth & Investment Management producer onboarding application Global investment manager client onboarding  Public sector case management application (rent relief, etc)Fun use cases to consider: Something similar to a Spotify year-in-review Restaurant reservation app A simple game built on Unqork Or other creative uses cases like these from previous Hackathons Messaging App Cricket league Resort booking and management Rock Paper Scissors Game  Who will see my application?Initially, just our judges. But we hope that you’ll opt-in to sharing your application in posts like this on the Community Hub. This will help other Creators learn from your work by examining your configuration and asking questions, or maybe even sharing advice. If you’re chosen as a finalist, many more will see your application on our live showcase event. And the audience gets to choose the winner! It should be noted, others in the training environment will be able to see your application, both as you build and after it’s complete. So if you want to keep it a secret, get creative with how you name it. 😎 Can I submit more than one application? Absolutely! Any submissions received by the deadline will be considered. In fact, I’ll give you 100 points for each application you submit. I don’t think I’ll win, why should I participate? This is a fun way to explore functionality you might not yet have a use case for in your day job. Maybe you’re early on in the build of your application, maybe you specialize with data workflow, but don’t get to configure the UI, maybe you’re part of a large team and don’t get to design or make the big decisions on your apps. With this Hackathon, you get to own every part of building a (small) application, as well as having the freedom to get creative or have fun with your use case!  Okay, but what are the prizes? Each participant will receive 100 points, as well as the Hackathon Participant badge on their Community profile. Finalists each more points, more badges, and more prizes. More details on the event page.  Do you have any examples I can review? Absolutely! If you haven’t yet, consider watching the recordings of our first  and second Hackathon Showcase events. You’ll see our four finalists demo their applications. Additionally, you can watch our winners, @Pushparaj and @PriyankaS explain their winning configuration in more detail on these recordings: Pushparaj & Priyanka. Finally, you can find all four of our finalists’ applications, plus a few others, in our Use Case Showcase forum. These posts include their description, as well as links to review both the configuration and the Express preview of the application.  What if I have other questions? Reply below, send me a message, or email to community@unqork.com
