As part of this, I adjusted our points system on March 28 and April 1. At this time, points are not awarded for giving/receiving likes. Subscribe to the post below if you want to receive email notifications about changes.Additionally, a separate issue caused a number of users to incorrectly receive large increments of points on March 28. Due to these issues, the March leaderboard below shows adjusted totals: removing points for likes given/received as well as the incorrectly issued points. The totals below may be different from what you see in the points checking app. We anticipate issues will be resolved by the end of this month. Based on this feedback, we added an additional option for participating in the hackathon. Recipe-only ParticipationRather than build a fully functional application, you can participate by getting stated with hands-on exploration of Unqork’s Integration Gateway. Ensure Integration Gateway is enabled in your staging environment Details here and in the sign up confirmation Build at least one integration recipe Complete the training course from Unqork Academy Tell us about your recipe in a short submission formParticipants will earn 100 points as well as the Hackathon Participant badge. Answered Questions will Close for Commenting after One Week

Earlier this month, we began rolling out a small user experience improvement on the Unqork Community Hub. Now, questions with a marked answer become closed for commenting one week after the answer is marked. You will still be able to like replies, but you will not be able to reply on the thread. More details below.  FAQWhy close comments? We noticed a trend of follow-up questions on many of our thousands previously answered questions. Often times these follow-up comments and related questions go unaddressed; this is likely due to: Question displays as answered in activity feeds, thus Creators are less likely to click into the thread to see the response (and thus, help respond). Creators who participated in the original thread may no longer be active. Following a new conversation on a previously answered thread can be confusing; others may not know whether the follow-up has been answered. That’s not the experience we want you to have when you’re looking for answers in the Unqork Community. Now, when you view a previously answered question, a message will show letting you know if commenting has been closed.  What if I have a related question? We recommend you create a new question, referencing the previous question. If the question is recent, it might be helpful to @ mention the Creator who provided the accepted answer. New questions have a 99% probability of receiving at least one helpful reply, and we typically see monthly averages of 75-80% of questions solved.  New questions benefit from incentives like Featured Questions, Answer Hero, and Problem Solver badges.  We want to recognize and reward the Creators who help answer your questions, especially if they are pursuing SME status. Answering your question earns them at least 20 points.   What if I need the thread re-opened?If the question was incorrectly marked as solved or if there’s a new insight to share, you can use the flagging feature (the *** menu in the bottom right) to flag the post and request it re-open.  Why one week? This allows time for follow-up questions and comments, whether it be a “thank you!” reply, a clarifying question, or an additional insight to share.  Related

Unqork Community Hackathon: Integration Gateway - Overview and F.A.Q.

We are excited to share the details of our latest Unqork Community Hackathon. In this asynchronous competition, Creators are asked to build a working application that leverages Unqork’s Integration Gateway and other new features.Earn bragging rights, points, badges, Unqork swag, and other recognition as you showcase your expertise and sharpen your configuration skills. In this postHow it works Recipe-only Participation  Timeline Individual and Team Categories F.A.Q. Who can participate? What’s different from previous Unqork Hackathons? How do I enable Integration Gateway in my environment? How do I use Integration Gateway? Does Unqork offer dedicated support for Hackathon participants? How do I sign up? Is there a time limit? How much time will it take to participate? How do I get started? Who will see my application? Can I submit more than one application? I don’t think I’ll win, why should I participate? Okay, but what are the prizes? Do you have any examples I can review?  What if I have other questions?   How it worksSign-up on the event page: This is how you receive the submission form and also let us know you plan to participate.  Deadline March 25, 2024 Build on your own or with your team: Just be sure to submit by the deadline.  This is an asynchronous hackathon for our Creators all around the world! No time minimum or maximum. Submit your app: Use the submission form (emailed to you in step 1) to submit the following: Short video explanation and demo of the application (~10 minutes) Short description of the application Details on the usage of Integration Gateway Recipe-only Participation Don’t have time to build a full working application, but still want to participate? We’ve added a new option to participate: TimelineApril 4: Deadline to sign up April 29: Entries due May 3: Judging Complete, Finalists Determined Mid-May: Showcase Event with FinalistsJudges will select finalists for both the individual and team categories, then we’ll schedule a live showcase for the audience to determine the winners.  Individual and Team CategoriesHackathon entries may be submitted to one of two categories: individual or team. You may compete individually or partner with others in a teams of 2 or 3. Each Creator should sign up individually to ensure you receive the necessary details and communications. F.A.Q.In addition to the details on the event page, below are some anticipated questions you might have. We’ll update this blog with other frequently asked questions as they occur.  Who can participate?Any Creator in our community: customer, partner, Unqork staff, and even those still considering and exploring Unqork. The only requirement is that you have Creator access to an environment. (If you’re able to log in to the Community Hub, you have the right access.)Note: While Unqork staff are welcome to participate, we’ll be limiting the competition to non-staff Creators. You can still earn 100 points for participating and showcase your expertise and creativity if you approve us to share your app with the community.  What’s different from previous Unqork Hackathons? This time, Creators are required to build the application within your company’s staging environment. Previously, we’ve had hackathon participants build their applications in Unqork’s Training Environment; however, Integration Gateway access is not provided for Unqork’s Training Environment.  How do I enable Integration Gateway in my environment?First, check to see if it may already be enabled. From our Academy course: How to check if Integration Gateway is enabled in your environmentIf you do not see Integration Gateway as an option, work with your environment administrator(s) to request access. Your administrator(s) will need to agree to the additional Terms & Conditions (a link we provide when you sign up), which will kick-off the processes for Unqork to add it to your environment. Additionally, you will need to work with your environment administrator(s) to ensure you have the appropriate role-based access permissions to allow for setting up and editing integration services.  How do I use Integration Gateway?Check out our these learning resources from Unqork: Academy Course Documentation Integration Administration How to: Create Connections and Recipes Using the Integration Gateway How to: Create On-Prem Agents Using the Integration Gateway How to: Get Salesforce Contact Records How to: Create Salesforce Contact Records Webinars Ask the Expert: Integration Gateway (recording from October 2023) Ask the Expert: Integration Gateway On-Prem (live on March 14, 2024, available on the community afterwards) Additionally, we recommend these Automation Pro Certificate courses from Workato for detailed training on the Workato-specific aspects of Integration Gateway.  Does Unqork offer dedicated support for Hackathon participants? In addition to the learning resources above and our always-on Community Hub, questions tagged with Integration Gateway are routed to the Unqork Product and Engineering teams for Integration Gateway. This way, they have real time visibility into questions and can help answer them on the community. If you’re in need of additional support, work with your primary Unqork contact to request options.  How do I sign up?We’re asking you to sign up via the event page. When you sign up, you’ll receive the link for submitting your application. This helps us know who is planning to submit an application for the Hackathon. It’s helpful in case we need to send you any updates, like if we decide to extend the deadline or if there’s any other guidance we have to give.  Is there a time limit? How much time will it take to participate? We believe you can and should participate in this Hackathon even if you only spend a few hours on your app. While there is no time limit, there’s also no time minimum. If you only have an hour or two to spare, we recommend the steps in the next question. So then, why the long timeline? As an asynchronous competition, we’re allowing plenty of time for you to build your application whenever you have some free time to explore. Whether that means working for a few hours in one sitting or for a few minutes here and there across a few weeks.  How do I get started? The primary focus of these Hackathons is to give you a fun reason to explore new functionality and fine tune your skills as a Creator. Getting started means first familiarizing yourself with these new grid components. Sign up via the event page. Ensure Integration Gateway is enabled for your staging environment (see above) Review the documentation and other learning resources.  Come up with your application use case. It can be simple; it cam be complex. It can be fun, it can solve a business problem. Whatever use case you can think of to meet the criteria outlined on the event page. Outline your general config. Develop a plan; map out how you might build this application. This will save you time and help you manage the time you spend building.  Start building! Who will see my application?Due to the change of building within your company’s staging environment, no one will have direct access to your application. Instead, you will be asked to submit a video demo and overview of your configuration. Initially, just our judges our judges will review these videos. If you’re chosen as a finalist, you will be asked to demo your application on a live showcase event. In that case, many more will see your application demo on the live event, post-event recording, and post-event marketing materials (if you approve).  Additionally, we hope that not finalist participants will opt-in to sharing your application in posts like this on the Community Hub. This will help other Creators learn from your work by watching the video, asking questions, or maybe even sharing advice.  Can I submit more than one application?Absolutely! Any submissions received by the deadline will be considered. In fact, I’ll give you 100 points for each application you submit. I don’t think I’ll win, why should I participate? This is a fun way to explore functionality you might not yet have a use case for in your day job. Maybe you’re early on in the build of your application, maybe you specialize with data workflow, but don’t get to configure the UI, maybe you’re part of a large team and don’t get to design or make the big decisions on your apps. With this Hackathon, you get to own every part of building a (small) application, as well as having the freedom to get creative or have fun with your use case!  Okay, but what are the prizes? Each participant will receive 100 points, as well as the Hackathon Participant badge on their Community profile. Finalists each more points, more badges, and more prizes. More details on the event page.  Do you have any examples I can review? Absolutely! If you haven’t yet, consider watching the recordings of our first  and second Hackathon Showcase events. You’ll see our four finalists demo their applications. Additionally, you can watch previous winners, @Pushparaj and @PriyankaS explain their winning configuration in more detail on these recordings: Pushparaj & Priyanka. Finally, you can find all four of our finalists’ applications, plus a few others, in our Use Case Showcase forum. These posts include their description, as well as links to review both the configuration and the Express preview of the application.  What if I have other questions? Reply below, send me a message, or email to community@unqork.com

Learn about Composite Apps: Embedded UI from Unqork's Winter '24 Platform Release

Announced with Unqork’s Winter 2024 Platform Release, Embedded UI allows users to create composite applications by configuring and reusing standard components that can be securely embedded into any internal or external application.Thierry Bonfante, Unqork’s Chief Product Officer, describes the business value in his latest blog: Simply put, you can drive digital transformation in a completely modular way while leveraging Unqork’s first-rate security.Composite apps also drive standardization. For example, over the years, large enterprises will have many flavors of similar functions, all behaving slightly differently and all implemented in different tech, therefore confusing end-users and increasing the cost of ownership. With composite apps, you can build a solution once in Unqork and inject it across all those use cases, increasing consistency in your processes while driving the cost down.Ask the Expert Demos & Documentation Learn about Vega Unqork’s Winter ‘24 Release Ask the ExpertOn March 7, Unqork Creators can join a live Codeless Classroom webinar to learn about Embedded UI from one of Unqork’s Lead Product Manager, Patrick Quinn. Attendees can submit questions in advance via the registration form or ask them during the live event. Troubleshooting Forum and Problem Solver Badges

I am excited to roll out our new Troubleshooting forum and Problem Solver badges, the latest enhancements to our Unqork Community experience.  Troubleshooting ForumOn average 20-30% of questions asked on our community are troubleshooting in nature. You have the module configured the way you want, but something is not quite working. Or perhaps you just can’t quite find what is causing that error. Platform Q&A vs TroubleshootingOur community has been fantastic in solving problems, averaging >75% monthly solution rate for more than a year. This new forum helps segment and focus the different types of questions we receive on the community. When should you use each? Platform Q&A is best for questions about functionality and new configuration: “Can I do {configuration} with Unqork?” “How do I configure {use case} with {component or feature name}?” “What component should I use for {use case}?”    Troubleshooting is best for solving issues and existing configuration:  “I thought I had this right, but it’s not working.”  Unexpected behavior Solving errors or data issues Post your question in the wrong forum? If I, or others, notice a question is misplaced, I can move it to the correct place. As is the case already, some questions might not be solved on the community and may require *support. Starting your troubleshooting on the community can be helpful in crowdsourcing perspectives and ruling out possible causes before you need to reach out to support. Problem Solver BadgesWith this new forum, we are also introducing a new type of community recognition. Solving troubleshooting questions relies on specific skills and expertise. It requires a strong understanding of- and experience with- the Unqork platform, as well as curiosity and/or initiative to find the solution.Problem Solver badges recognize Creators who provide answers to questions within the Troubleshooting forum. There are 5 tiers to the Problem Solver badge, earned with every 5 answers provided. This is similar to our Answer Hero and monthly Leaderboard badges. Level 1 Level 2 Level 3 Level 4 Level 5 5 answers 10 answers 15 answers 20 answers 25 answers Answers within the Troubleshooting Forum  Extra Recognition at Level 5When you reach Level 5 with 25 answers to questions in the Troubleshooting forum, we’ll recognize the tremendous impact you’ve made with a special Level on your profile and Community Leaderboard, as well as an exclusive Credly badge you can add to your Linkedin. Problem Solver will display by your username on the community (see below) Problem Solver will display as your level on the Community Leaderboard Credly badge can be added to Linkedin profile or resumeHow it displays on your profileHow it displays behind your posts and repliesFAQDo previously provided answers count towards Problem Solver badges? Yes! Over the next few days, we will move past questions into the Troubleshooting forum. If you have previously provided the answer, it will count in your progress towards Problem Solver badges.    How do Troubleshooting answers and Problem Solver badges work with SME status?  The answers required for earning SME status are agnostic to which forum the question sits within. Both Platform Q&A and Troubleshooting answers count towards SME status, as do any other answers in other forums (or that may have been archived).  Problem Solver badges are in addition to SME status. You can achieve both SME status and the level 5 Problem Solver badge. When you do so, both will show near your username like in the examples above.*Note: If your issue is critical or time sensitive, you should reach out to support. While community questions have a high solution rate and typically receive timely responses, there is no guarantee your question will receive a response within a specific time frame. We use Featured Questions to help with this, but it does not ensure an answer.

Thank you to those three, as well as all our other SMEs and top contributors, for all they’ve done and continue to contribute. An amazing impactIn addition to the the 200 answers provided, Laxmi has consistently contributed each month. What sets this release apart is that our team built these features entirely on our codeless platform passing the product version of the “Turing Test.” After decades of building software with different languages and technologies, it is an amazing feat to get to the point where our team can build – and actually prefers to build – with our own codeless platform.  As we call it, we “drink our own champagne.”Thanks to our extraordinary team and the power of Unqork, in just one quarter, we were able to concept, build, and launch the first Integrated Development Environment (IDE) designer without a single line of code, which will in-turn help our customers unlock faster innovation. Compared to the years this would have taken with traditional coding, this is a testament to Unqork's technology. [...]It’s time to embrace the future of codeless, and I’m excited to be a part of Unqork who is leading the charge. Celebrating Two Years with Unqork's Community Hub!

Today completes two full years live with our Unqork Community Hub! As we did last year, let’s celebrate with a review of how far we’ve come in the past twelve months. Community happens in collaboration with each of you contributing to our success. Thank you for another great year! Award Winning Community Year 2 Highlight: Class-Leading Reply and Answer Rates Year 2 in Review What’s Next?Award Winning CommunityIn May, we were recognized as a leader in the customer communities with a Gainsight GameChanger Award! Year 2 Highlight: Class-Leading Reply and Answer RatesOne year ago, we had a “good problem” to solve: as engagement increased on the Community Hub, it became harder to keep up with the increased rate of questions. So we made it our goal to improve your experience. How did we do? Over the past year, we have improved our answer rate by 30% and ensured that almost every question received a helpful reply. These are class-leading results, as community industry benchmark reports (like this), indicate SaaS communities average only about a 50% answer rate.  Year 2 in ReviewAugust: We added recognition for top contributors (more to come on this at the end!).   September: The engine behind our drastically improved reply and answer rates launched:   October: We wrapped up our second hackathon.   November: Two UX improvements.    December: New and expanded features.   January: More flexibility and more benefits for SMEs.     February: We kicked off a new, annual points competition.    March: The first in a revamp of resource links on the home page.     April: Home page revamp part two!   May: Our biggest month of the year!We launched a new community feature to help you track enhancements, bug fixes, and documentation updates for specific features.  We won our award: We hosted an Ask the Expert series on our spring release:   And our Technical Writing team put together a great new resource featured on the Community home page:    June: One of the most significant UX improvements since we launched.   July: New opportunities, new functionality, and 4 great Dynamic Refresh demos.   August: And circling back to where we began with updated rewards for top contributors.   What’s Next?Earlier today we announced changes coming soon: And we’re always looking for ways to improve your experience. Send me a message or an email at community@unqork.com with your feedback and ideas.

Now Live: Changes to Your Training Environment and Community Experiences

Update: September 11, 2023These changes have now been implemented. Read more in the original post below, these FAQs on the WSRBAC for the Training environment, and in this recommended best practices article for the community:  If a POC link is broken on Community Hub: Please flag the post and let us know. We are still working to preserve past POCs in the new Community Answers workspace. We will do our best to expedite any reported links.  If you are having issues the Training Environment: Create a support ticket so the team can help resolve it. We're excited to announce that we will be turning on workspace role-based access control (WSRBAC) in the Unqork Training environment in the coming weeks. This will bring about a number of changes to the Training environment and the Unqork Community Hub that will improve the user experience and enhance performance. Why we’re making this changeBetter performance in the Training environment. WSRBAC will allow us to better manage empty workspaces, unused applications, and inactive users leading to a cleaner, more performant environment. It will also allow you to load personal applications with ease and build with confidence.   Better UX in the Training environment. Your view will be simpler and more personalized. Your personal workspace should be one of the first workspaces you see, rather than having to locate it using the search function or adding it to your bookmarks. You’ll also be able to easily navigate to shared resources on Academy and Community.  Improve preservation of POCs on Community. Part of this change will be to preserve helpful POCs built to answer questions on Community in a view-only workspace. This will allow us to grow our library of examples and ensure broken links in Community are a thing of the past. What this means for youUsers will be limited to a single personal workspace. You will not be able to access workspaces of other creators unless participating in a training program that requires cross workspace collaboration. This will keep your workspace clear and enhance the training experience for all. Your personal workspace was created for you when you first accessed the training environment.    Users will also have access to two Community workspaces. For Community Q&A, you’ll need to build (or copy/paste) a POC in the Community Collaboration workspace. When a POC is included in a marked answer on Community Hub, it will be moved to the Community Answers workspace. Everyone will be able to read those POCs, but won’t be able to modify it. Thus, preserving the integrity of the answer / avoiding breaking the POC.   Some of your Community built POCs may move. If a POC was selected as the top answer to a community question, it will be moved to the Community Answers workspace. The URL will remain the same, but it will no longer be in your personal workspace. (You will be able to copy/paste the definition if you want a copy in your personal workspace.)This will be a seamless transition that should not affect any training programs you are participating in or disrupt any open* questions you have on the Community Hub. As always, please let us know if you run into any issues or have any questions.*However, open questions older than 1 year may be archived.Unqork Community & Enablement Teams
