Annual Leaderboard Badges (Now with Top 10 Badge)

October 18, 2024 Update: See this article and this overview of Points, Badges, and Recognition for the latest information. While the information in this blog is currently correct, it may evolve in the future.January 8, 2024 Update: A new Top 10 badge has been added for Creators who finish with the 4th through 10th most points in a year. The top three will still receive the gold, silver, and bronze badges mentioned below. The success of our Unqork Community depends upon the contributions of our community members. We are continually looking for new ways to recognize and reward those Creators most actively sharing their expertise, their questions, their ideas, and their lessons learned. I am excited to announce the newest recognition: Annual Leaderboard Badges.  Annual Leaderboard BadgesThese yearly badges follow the same template as the monthly leaderboard badges we launched in August:Gold, Silver, and Bronze badges for the top 3 points earners within the year. There is also a badge for the most answers provided within the year. Each badge will be awarded to only one Creator each calendar year.  Gold Badge: Most Points Silver Badge:2nd Most Points Bronze Badge:3rd Most Points Aqua Badge:Most Answers  The 2022 version of these badges have been awarded to @Laxminarsaiah Ragi, @Srikanth Dommati, and @vamsi krishna for finishing atop the leaderboard last year. (Unfortunately, we are not able to retroactively award these badges for points earned in 2020 and 2021.   Tracking Your ProgressWhile our Community Leaderboard only has views for the current week and All Time, you can check your points in any custom time frame with this simple Unqork app. You can find this app on the Community Hub home page below the leaderboard widget. Learn more here:  Monthly UpdatesAdditionally, we will share a year-to-date leaderboard for both points and answers in our monthly leaderboard update blogs. You can see the latest, and see the standings after January, here: We will also explore additional features for self-service leaderboard checking. We have requested this feature from our community platform vendor and are exploring ways we might build it using Unqork.  Earning Points and RecognitionOur general approach to points on the Community Hub is to recognize and reward nearly everything you do, from small activities like upvoting a reply or idea, to larger contributions like participating in hackathons or presenting on events. This way, our Community Leaderboard and individual point totals reflect total contributions to our community, whether on the Community Hub or by participating in Unqork events or programs.Learn more:  What do you think? Updates to the SME Program

Today, I’m excited to share updates to our Unqork Community Subject Matter Expert (SME) program. This program recognizes Creators who demonstrate their expertise through contributions on the Community Hub and/or our events. These changes will enhance the benefits for those in the SME program, as well as increase flexibility for earning and maintaining SME status. Additionally, the revised criteria recognizes and rewards the expertise developed through Unqork certification. An overview of the changes follows, but you can read more details on the current program here:  Background and ContextThe original SME program was launched in 2020 and predates our Community Hub. As we’ve expanded and evolved our community over the past 18 months, we have collected improvement ideas and feedback from SMEs. The changes were developed based largely on their input, in addition to close analysis of success metrics and our recent community survey. There are three primary goals behind these changes: trust, flexibility, and gratitude.  TrustWhen you see a Creator identified as a Subject Matter Expert, you need to trust that their expertise has been validated. To date, this expertise is demonstrated through answering many questions. However, we have additional measures in Unqork certifications and best practice training to help validate expertise. FlexibilityThe time and attention of experts are in high demand. Creators that achieve certification and SME status report increased responsibilities in their work and new opportunities for professional development like new jobs or promotions. We recognize that experts’ ability to contribute may vary depending on other professional and personal priorities. Therefore, we hope to allow experts to match their contributions to their time and interests, while also rewarding the other ways they develop their expertise. GratitudeOur community is at its best when experts are actively contributing. They drive a tremendous amount of success in our community whether answering questions, sharing tips and tricks, or presenting on events. We want to ensure that we recognize and reward our top contributors, not just when they achieve SME status, but as they continue to have an impact on our community. What’s Changing The primary changes are adjustments to the criteria for earning and maintaining SME status. These requirements are now aligned to certification status, validating (trust) expertise and providing additional flexibility for higher levels of certification. Additionally, we are enhancing the benefits for SMEs, especially those active for multiple years, as a reflection of our gratitude. Finally, the criteria for Unqork staff has been adjusted to reflect the variety of ways different roles cultivate expertise and/or contribute.New Criteria for SMEsThe general structure is the same: Creators are asked to actively contribute over a number of months and also answer questions. Creators with Unqork certifications are now rewarded with additional flexibility in earning SME status. However, those without formal certification (Associate or higher) must demonstrate their expertise through increased contributions. Additionally, the Unqork Agile Framework (UAF) skill badge is required as an important Unqork best practice.   UAF Skill Badge Months of 200+ Points Questions Answered No Certification Not eligible Novice Badge Required At least 5 of 6 months 30 Associate Required At least 3 of 4 months 20 Professional Required At least 3 of 6 months 15 Unqork Staff Required N/A 15  Maintaining SME StatusPreviously, SMEs were expected to earn 200+ month-over-month to maintain their status. Now, SMEs are granted the flexibility to make their impact over the course of 12 months. Additional flexibility is given to those who increase their certification in recognition of both the time it takes and expertise it cultivates.   Maintains Certification Level Moves Up Certification Level Alternative: Answers Novice 2000 points per year 1200 points per year 30 Associate  1200 points per year 1000 points per year 20 Professional 1000 points per year Not yet available 15 Unqork Staff *Based on job role and responsibilities Additional alternatives are also available (see the program overview link below for details). Benefits of SME StatusPreviously, SMEs were recognized with a badge on their community profile and some Unqork swag. Over the past year, we have added additional recognition and community features. As part of these updates, we are further enhancing the perks of earning and maintaining SME status; read the details here:  Going ForwardThese changes are effective going forward; officially beginning tomorrow: February 1, 2023. However, we recognize that this change may impact those that have been pursuing SME status over the past several months. Creators who had previously earned 200+ points in two or more months between September 2022 and January 2023 (check your points here) will be granted consideration under the previous requirements (20 answers; 3 consecutive months of 200+ points) on a case by case basis. Questions & FeedbackIf you have questions about this program, your progress toward SME status, or feedback you’d like to share, please send me a message here on the Community Hub or at community@unqork.com

Unqork Unveils Codeless as a Service

At Unqork Create 2022, Unqork CEO Gary Hoberman unveiled Codeless as a Service. Read the announcement and watch Gary’s keynote to learn more! Highlights What is Codeless as a Service? From the press release:Codeless as a Service allows enterprise customers to seamlessly build, run and manage next generation software – with a single open data definition. Unqork customers can achieve a secure, multi-cloud codeless architecture for applications that provide usability, extensibility, upgradability, portability, reliability and more. As a result, customers are able to create future-proof software applications that unlock substantial productivity gains with a faster proof of value than traditional coding. Additionally, Unqork announced two major investments in the evolution of its codeless platform, Unqork OS and Codeless Data Experiences. Read more. “A category that has never existed before”From the keynote:“Codeless as a Service picks up where the serverless movement left off in the journey of abstraction, empowering enterprises to build, run, and manage next-generation software—all with a single, open data definition” [...]In his keynote, Hoberman argued that CaaS is fundamentally different from low-code/no-code tools, which still require significant manual coding—and/or generate lots of new code themselves. "Unqork does not generate code. It is an interpreter of code,” said Hoberman. “That’s why Codeless as a Service is not just another tool in a tool shed. It is a category that has not existed before.”

New Documentation Hub Look and Feel

In an effort to continue producing highly-detailed documentation for Unqork Creators, the Documentation Hub has undergone some changes. These changes were made to improve user experience and allow for easier navigation of the documentation. In addition to the changes to the site, ongoing updates to the look and feel of our documents are taking place. With the new component UI changes, you’ll find the documentation more intuitive and more representative of what you see when configuring modules. What ChangedDocumentation Hub Improved Search: While we continue to improve our search engine, an industry-standard documentation site should not be dependent on it. You’ll find a completely restructured side navigation for the different buckets of our site. This includes alphabetized organization, and lower-level documentation moved to top-level sections. These changes make it easier to locate documentation based on topic, and minimize clicking. Documentation Hub articles remain accessible within our Community Hub search:  New Landing Pages: We’ve also created new landing pages for all top-level sections of the side-nav. These landing pages provide brief descriptions of the lower-level documentation in that section and include direct links. For example, check out the Table Operators section of the Data Workflow: Operator Library in our User Manual. New How-to Organization: All How-to guides are now housed in the How-to Guides section, with new landing pages explaining each guide of that section. For example, check out the Module Editor: Component Library section of our How-to Guides. Improved Navigation: With the new UI changes to components, use the side-nav to navigate the article itself better. This change reduces scrolling and allows everyone to use the Doc Hub as it was intended: as a true reference site to find the exact information you are looking for. For example, check out the new and improved Panel and Text Field component articles. Component Articles With the new look and feel of components, we made documentation changes to match the UI. Tables now look identical to the tables you would see in the actual component settings. Updated images that display the new component settings. In our step-by-step procedures, you’ll see new text colors that match the component. For example, Property ID and Label Text colors. As you proceed through the step-wise procedures, hover over the settings we ask you to configure to display descriptions. This change keeps you on task and minimizes the need to scroll back to the settings portion of the doc. For example, hover over the Property ID in step 2 of the Text Field component article. Instead of bold text for steps like “Click Save & Close” and “Save your module”, you’ll now see this text as the actual button you would click in the component. While these changes appear as images, they are still compatible with any customers that need to use a translation tool, like Google Translate.  Documentation RequestsWe value your feedback.
