New Forums for Discussing Best Practices, Strategy, and Use Cases

Today, we’re excited to launch two new forums on our community: Best Practices & Strategy and Use Case Showcase. With these forums, we are expanding the types of conversations you can have to include thought leadership and more open-ended conversations. Our Platform Q&A forum is not changing and has not gone away; it is the foundation upon which our community has been built. However, we recognize that not every question has a specific answer to be marked as “solved.” There is also a lot of value in other types of conversations and posts to share your lessons learned or points of view. Best Practices & StrategyThis forum is for conversations that extend beyond platform functionality or configuration. It’s a place to ask for and share advice, lessons learned, and proven approaches to building codeless applications. Discuss approaches to organizing teams and managing projects. Share recommendations for processes in your software development lifecycle like error handling or documenting your configuration. Use Case ShowcaseIn this forum, learn and discuss real world examples of why, how, and when to use the Unqork Platform or specific features. Here’s a great example.Share your use cases to help Creators identify their next project and opportunities to improve their apps. Ask questions to unpack ways to solve your business problems with the Unqork platform. Or start a discussion to crowdsource ideas for how to leverage new features when they launch.  Three Types of PostsUntil now, the majority of posts on the Community Hub have been questions in our Platform Q&A forum. In October, we added the option to submit Ideas and recently expanded that feature. With the addition of these new forums, we have added the ability to create a general “Post” that is neither a question nor an idea. These posts might be a blog you want to publish, a short update you want to share, or an open thread for an ongoing discussion of the topic. You will see the three options when you click on the +Create a Post button in the navigation bar. The Difference Between Post TypesIn general, all three types look the same when you create them. Each allows others the ability to reply, upvote, subscribe to email updates, or share. The difference is in how the posts work after you publish. Questions are designed to mark one reply as the answer to embedded. Example  Open questions are grouped here for others to help solve.  Ideas are designed for others to upvote when they agree.  Example Upvoting functionality is featured prominently near the title and in activity feeds Posts are designed for everything else.  Best for individual blogs, updates, or open-ended conversations that don’t have a specific answer  Examples:  “How do you structure your teams?” or “What are some use cases for the new grid system?” or a blog like this.  Finally, in addition to the new forums and the new post type, we now award points for when you create posts, questions, and ideas.FeedbackWhat do you think? Reply below or reach out to community@unqork.com with your questions and feedback. If you have recommendations for other forums and features for us to add, submit an idea for our community.

Points Update: You Now Receive 5 Points for Creating a Post

When you take the time to post on the Community Hub, you add value by helping build our knowledge base. It’s time to recognize and reward that value by awarding points for your contributions. Background and ContextTo date, we have had one primary community forum: Platform Q&A. This forum is dedicated to questions, so our points were geared towards replies, upvotes, and answers. However, we will soon launch new forums for posting and discussing topics that are not as binary as Q&A. We want you to be able to post a blog, share your point of view, or start an open-ended conversation on topics that might not have one set answer. You will see previews of these new forums in the change from “Ask a Question” to “Create a Post” on the button in the navigation menu. There you can also select to create a post or submit an idea. More to come soon, so subscribe to our Latest Updates blog or check back later this month. Value in Sharing Your WorkWhether you post a blog, start a conversation thread, ask a question about the platform, or submit an idea, we will now award 5 points for creating posts on the community. You add value when you share your experience with others. This way, other Creators can benefit from your experience when they find your question or post on the Community Hub. So take the time to post your questions on the Community Hub, especially if you were able to answer your own question. Post the question and reply with how you solved it. You’ll get the points for the question itself and for sharing the answer (not to mention the points from upvotes other Creators give you). Here’s a great example from earlier today. These points also count towards the 200+ points required to become a Subject Matter Expert. However, please avoid spamming our forum with unnecessary questions. We take your success seriously and have staff and SMEs that dedicate time towards replying to your posts; please do not waste their time. (After all, there’s a quality control measure in our SME status, you need to have answered at least 20 questions all-time; points alone will not get you there.)And stay tuned for the other new ways you can share your lessons learned, use cases, best practices, and points of view with our community. As always, we value your feedback. So reply below or reach out at community@unqork.com with your questions and input.

Submit and Upvote Ideas for Community, Documentation, Academy and More

Update: This feature has been sunset due to lack of use and changes to our enhancement ideas process. Your feedback is important to us. So much so that Ideas was the first feature we added after launching the Community Hub last year. Today, I’m excited to announce that we are expanding our Ideas feature. When we launched this feature in October, it was limited to Platform Ideas. You can submit your ideas for features and functionality you would like to see added to the Unqork platform and upvote ideas you agree with. That functionality still exists, but we’re expanding it to include ideas for the Creator resources you use every day. What’s NewYou can now submit ideas for each of the following: Academy Community (Community Hub features, event ideas, or programs you’d like to see) Documentation Marketplace Unqork PlatformHow It WorksYou submit ideas the same way you did before. Click on the Submit an Idea button on our Ideas page. (We also have an improvement coming soon to make this easier. Stay tuned!)Select an Idea CategoryYou will see a new field when creating an idea: Idea Category. Simply select the appropriate category for your idea before you post your idea. New field when creating an Idea post What Happens NextAll ideas funnel to the Unqork teams responsible for that area. The team can reply to your idea if they have a question, a relevant update, or if they want to discuss it further with you. Otherwise, know that your ideas are added to our team pipelines for improvements to consider. Additionally, your ideas are visible to other Creators to upvote or contribute to the conversation with a reply. Ideas will appear in the main activity feed on the Community Hub home page or can be viewed (and filtered by category) on the Ideas page. The more upvotes an idea gets, the stronger the signal to us that we should consider it. In the future, we intend to develop ways to update you on idea statuses. Until then, stay tuned to our Latest Updates blog for announcements on new features for Community, the latest Documentation, new courses form Academy, or new Marketplace listings. For the Unqork Platform, your best source of information is our Release Notes. (Note: we also highlight Release Notes in our documentation updates). Have a question or some feedback? Leave us a reply below. Or better yet, submit your ideas for how we can continue to improve.

Coming Soon: A More Open Unqork Community - Do You Want to Update Your Username

As our Unqork Community grows, we are always working to improve your experience with new ways to connect to the people and resources you need as a Creator. Later this month, we are excited to take the first step towards a more open Community Hub experience. Note: You can stay up-to-date on these improvements via our Latest Updates blog where you can filter by Community and also subscribe to email updates. What’s Changing? We are softening the login experience when you first visit the Community Hub.You’re likely familiar with the initial login screen, asking you to enter an Unqork environment. It looks like this:Current Community Hub Login ScreenIn the future, you will be able to visit a more open Community Hub platform and access the navigation menu without logging-in. When logged-out, your view of the home page will look more like this:Example of the new Community Hub home page when logged-outIt’s still the same Community Hub, but you can access the navigation menu and see other features available to you. The new Login button will then take you through the same login experience you’re familiar with today. Overall, it should be similar to your experiences with Unqork Academy and Marketplace. Additionally, some features will now be accessible from a logged-out state. At the outset, this will just be Events, the Latest Updates blog, Points Leaderboard, Badge Updates, and user profile pages. What’s Staying the Same?Login credentials for Community Hub access: You will still need to use your Creator credentials for an Unqork environment in order to login. Q&A, Ideas, and other forums remain private: Your questions, replies, ideas, and other posts will only be visible to Creators who are logged-in on the Community Hub.Your User Profile contains mostly private information. Fields for your name, job title, company, and location are only for administrative use. They are not visible to other community members. Only your username, join date, badges, and certification status are visible to other users. When logged-in, other users can also view your recent activity, but this is not visible to logged-out users.Example of user profiles for logged-out viewers.Posts, replies, and activities are not accessible.  How Does This Impact You? The impact for existing Creators should be minimal and positive. The main change is that you now can access the navigation menu without logging-in. If you’ve been using Community Hub as your one-stop shop to access Creator resources like Academy or Documentation Hub, it should save you time. For Creators new to our Community, this change should make for a more welcoming experience. Rather than seeing a mostly static login page, they will be able to see some of the elements available to them when they join. Additionally, they’ll be able to see information on our events and updates. In the future, we will consider opening up other elements of our community as well. This would be done to unlock new benefits like Q&A access via any search engine or allowing non-Creators to login and leverage some resources. We will let you know before making any of those changes. If you have questions, ideas or feedback, please let us know. Option to Update Your UsernameThe one primary consideration, however, is whether you wish to update your username. As mentioned above, user profiles, the points leaderboard, and recently earned badges will be visible even when logged-out.When we launched our Community Hub, we followed the First & Last Name format of our previous platform. There are benefits to using full names: your certification status, badges, and points are attributed to you, showcasing your expertise and reputation within the Community. It also helps for promoting Creator-to-Creator connections by making it easier to find someone to connect with on Linkedin or other platforms. That said, as we make some elements of our community to be more public, we recognize that not everyone will wish to display their full name. If at any time you wish to change your username to something more anonymous, please email our team at community@unqork.com. We are targeting the week of April 18-22 for when we transition to this more open state. If you wish to update your username before then, please let us know by Monday, April 18. However, you can request to update your username at any time. Note: Updating your username applies only to the Community Hub. It does not impact your login credentials for Unqork environments or other Creator resources like Unqork Academy or Marketplace.---As always, if you have any questions or feedback, please reach out to me directly or contact us at community@unqork.com

If your quote or video is included in a marketing campaign, you’ll earn an additional 200 bonus points, a special achievement badge, Unqork swag, and other benefits for helping us spread the word about innovating with Codeless Architecture.  The Most Innovative Companies Will Be Codeless Today, Unqork was named one of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies of 2022, ranking 5 on the list of Most Innovative Enterprise Tech companies. To be included on a list alongside companies such as GitHub and DocuSign is a true validation of our vision. The recognition got me thinking about what innovation really means to us at Unqork. It’s easy to appreciate innovation when it takes the form of something like SpaceX landing a rocket standing up or Pfizer and Moderna developing Covid-19 vaccines in record time. Innovation in enterprise software development may seem less spectacular, but it’s no less transformative. Enterprise applications are crucial ingredients in our modern world. They allow us to remotely access services from our doctor, insurer, bank, and local municipality via any web browser. Internal enterprise applications eliminate high-volume manual tasks and streamline cross-department workflows, which makes employees more productive, organizations more efficient, and ultimately delivers enhanced services to end-users. The complexity of today’s modern world demands robust, scalable digital engagements, which is why organizations invest hundreds of billions of dollars into software development every year. Remarkably, most of that money isn’t even used to develop new software—it’s spent managing existing codebases (AKA “keeping the lights on”). That problem is why we started Unqork. We don’t want software to be a burden holding our customers back; we want software to empower them to drive new innovations the world has never even thought of yet. That’s why Unqork is helping lead the way to a new enterprise software development paradigm: Codeless Architecture. This may be a new concept to many, but trust me, you’ll be hearing a lot about it in the years to come. You’re probably already familiar with “Serverless Architecture,” in which the management of physical servers is outsourced to a specialized third-party cloud service provider (CSP) such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or GCP. Serverless Architecture was a game-changer because it empowered organizations to tap into the power of the cloud sans the complexity of purchasing and managing physical servers. Serverless was arguably the most impactful disruption in enterprise software over the past decade, and Codeless will be just as impactful—if not more so.With Codeless Architecture, organizations outsource the management of their tech stack (including programming languages, frameworks, and integrations) to specialized no-code platforms (NCPs) such as Unqork. With Codeless Architecture, organizations outsource the management of their tech stack (including programming languages, frameworks, and integrations) to specialized no-code platforms (NCPs) such as Unqork. Developers can take a purely declarative approach to development and leave all the procedural steps to their NCP, which means complex applications can be built without writing, managing, or even seeing a line of code. When organizations go codeless, they can focus entirely on overcoming business challenges instead of technical ones. This isn’t some fantasy future state; it's happening right now.  Codeless Architecture has been used by leading organizations around the world to:  transform long-standing legacy processes in financial services deliver enhanced customer services at scale in insurance establish large cities’ pandemic response hubs in a matter of days build secure applications to support modern digital healthcare digitize "analog" processes at large federal agencies It wasn’t long ago that companies were forced to spend a not-insignificant amount of resources managing their physical cloud infrastructure. But over the past decade, Serverless Architecture abstracted physical servers into virtual components. Unqork’s no-code platform expands that abstraction to the application level. Codeless Architecture isn’t just an iterative improvement in how enterprise software is built, it completely eliminates the traditional roadblocks that stand between great ideas and great applications. This is how Unqork unlocks the innovation of others. To learn more: The 9 Most Disruptive Trends of 2022  Unqork for Developers - Do more with Codeless  What is Codeless Architecture? Unqork 101: Stop Coding and Start Creating

Hi, My name is Tamika White and I am Product Marketing Manager here at Unqork! I am excited to introduce the first installment in our blog series, Uncoder. A blog created for developers by developers. Check it out below as Nick Gamble, Chief Evangelist at Unqork introduces us to Unqork 101.Hi, I’m @Nick Gamble, Head of Evangelism at Unqork. I’ve been in the development game for over a decade. I’ve been an employee, a consultant, a manager, and a business owner. You can trust me when I say I understand everything software engineers, programmers, and developers have on their plate. I know the pain of being tasked to build new applications around evolving customer business requirements and meeting the demands of multiple stakeholders. And I know the challenges of doing it within complex, sprawling business ecosystems of legacy systems and third-party services. And I know the pressures to get it all done now now now.Right now, being a developer means spending a lot of time and energy translating business requirements into code. So many lines of code. Worse, all those lines of code have to be upgraded and maintained for the duration of the software’s lifecycle (some large organizations spend 50% of their IT budgets just maintaining all the existing code they have). But what if I told you that you could produce everything you do now without writing, editing, or even seeing a line of code? You may have heard of “no-code” platforms before, but you didn’t know what it meant exactly. No-code can be thought of as the next great evolution in software development. No-code frees you from the tedious procedural development tasks so you can focus on doing the best work of your career.Have I piqued your interest? Maybe just a little, at least?Maybe we can start this journey with an introduction to Designer. This is Unqork’s entirely visual interface that allows developers to drag-and-drop configurable components representing user-facing elements, backend logic, and integrations. You decide what you want your software to look like and what business logic it requires, and the platform interprets it on the fly.  Watch a clip from Unqork's recent video on Twitch. January 2022 Community Update: New Features, SMEs, and Events

January was our best month yet on our new Community Hub! Nearly six months since we launched, our community is growing fast with both new members and increased in activity.Congratulations to our newest Subject Matter Experts! The most exciting development of the past few months is the growing number of Creators contributing to our community. In January, we added @Apurva Dhamane as an SME after earning SME status throughout October - December. Today, @Madhura reached the 20 questions answered mark and SME status after earning more than 1500 points from November through January. Over the past few months, Apurva and Madhura have been our top two points earners. Please join me in congratulating them both and thanking them for their contributions to our community. Top contributors on Community Leaderboard In addition to Apurva, Madhura, and our other SMEs, we’ve seen great contributions from these community members:January points leaders@Madhura 548 - SME @Manish Gupta 422 - 2 consecutive months of 200+ points @Apurva Dhamane 357 - SME @Pushparaj 286 - 2 consecutive months of 200+ points @Keerthivasan_RK 277 - 4 consecutive months of 200+ points @Miguel Bendito 263  - 3 consecutive months of 200+ points @Danielle Ferguson 252 - SME @Emet Ozar 200 - SME @B Arvind 169  - 4 consecutive months of 150+ points @Magesh Kumar 167 - SMEShow your gratitude by marking the answer to your questionAs you can see, we have a few more Creators knocking on the door of SME status. As twenty answers is one of the requirements, marking the answer to your question helps those who helped you. In the future, we hope to award points to you as well for helping contribute to our knowledge base.  Community Hub Improvements As our community grows, we are working to improve your experience and building new features to connect you to resources and Creators. Over the past few weeks, we’ve rolled out these improvements: Additional improvements are in the works for each of the next few months, so stay tuned. Feature in Focus: Federated SearchIf you have not yet, take a look at that update on our improved search. Community Hub now offers you the ability to search across nearly all Creator resources. So if you’re looking for an answer or a resource to help, you can cast your net wide across our Q&A, Unqork Academy, Documentation Hub, and even Marketplace listings. Community Events We know that a community is much more than an online forum, it’s also ways to connect, network, and share experiences with other Creators. Increasing opportunities for peer-to-peer connection will be an increasing focus as our community grows. This month, we’re excited about the return of our interactive Creator LIVE! webinar series. Additionally, we’re expanding this series with a second monthly webinar. Additional OpportunitiesYou can also expect us to keep you up-to-date on other webinars and events to connect with experts and learn about Unqork. You’ll find these under our Events menu with recordings posted under our Knowledge Base menu. January Webinar Recordings Feedback welcomeWith that, what do you think? Event Recordings Now Available Under Knowledge Base

When we launched our Community Hub in August, one of the improvements was on-demand access to past Creator LIVE! webinar recordings. We have heard positive feedback that this has been helpful as Creators revisit the presentations or discover them for the first time when searching on the community. Additionally, you may have noticed new types of webinars over the past few months, like our Platform Release Show and Marketplace Spotlights. More webinars and events are in development, beginning with our new monthly Creator Success Hour series of interactive webinars beginning on February 24. Community Hub as your one-stop shop for resourcesAs webinars and events relevant to Creators get scheduled, we will promote them and make them accessible here on Community Hub.To make it easier to find and access recordings to past events, we have added the Knowledge Base menu in our navigation. You can access all of our past Creator LIVE! events, as well as other webinars relevant to Creators.Knowledge Base drop-down menuAdditional ways to access webinar recordingsWebinar recordings will be among the search results when looking for answers or resources on a specific topic. You will also see them Related Posts recommended in the sidebar alongside questions and other posts. So even if you missed that webinar a few months back, you can find and watch it when it becomes relevant to your work. These recording posts are also accessible from the event pages for past events in the Related Posts section under the event details. This is a change from how recordings were previously hosted; while recordings are no longer embedded in the event page, you can still find them by navigating to a past event page. Example of recording on event pagesWatch recordings on Community HubRather than send you to another webpage, you can watch these recordings directly within Community Hub. This allows you to add your questions and comments in the replies below the post. Our team will tag the speakers when necessary to keep the conversation going or get you an answer to your question. Finally, you can also let us know what you thought using the emoji rating for content helpfulness. Unqork Create 2021In addition to webinars, you will see a link to access all the great presentations from our Unqork Create conference. While these recordings are not available to watch directly within Community Hub, we have plans to add them into our Federated Search in the coming the weeks.
